Pathway Apprenticeships

2020 has been a very difficult year for all of us. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on all our lives. This has been especially true for those leaving school and seeking work. Pathway Apprenticeships have been developed to support Young People in Scotland who have reached school leaving age (16-18) and who in normal times would have been likely to have found employment and/or entered a Modern Apprenticeship.

As the name suggests the Pathway Apprenticeship is designed to help young people who are not in receipt of benefit a route into an apprenticeship and other suitable positive destinations and employment opportunities in summer 2021. The Pathway Apprenticeship qualification is based on the Foundation Apprenticeship model but is delivered on a ‘full time’ basis. Young People must be engaged in their PA a minimum of 25 hours per week. Young People on the Pathway Apprenticeship are entitled to a £100 weekly allowance which will cover subsistence and travel costs.
